Romeo and Juliet

by William Shakespeare (1564 - 1616)

February 10 - 19, 2005

This timeless tale of star-crossed lovers is brought to life in Desert Rose's inaugural production.  A long-held grudge held by two influential families proves to be the destruction of youth, hope and love.  Though love is stonger than death, it seems that hate is often even stronger than love.  For ages ten and older.

As told through the eyes of Joan of Arc's captors, her heresy trial is relived and her judges are forced to address the ideas of religion, war, politics and freedom.  What is the true nature of faith?  What makes a warrior?  In a jaded and scarred world, is there any room for miracles anymore?  Suitable for ages twelve and older.
